Virginia Scuba has become a leader in dive training by focusing on one thing... YOU! You do not just want to learn to dive (get a card), you want to become a diver for life. Understanding that, we conduct all courses with a customer-centered approach. It is simply a realization that different people learn in different ways and at different paces. Our staff will NEVER push or pressure you to perform a skill until you are ready to try it. During your course, you may skip any exercise until you get more comfortable in the underwater world, then come back to it later. It is YOUR diving adventure so please communicate with your professional about any reservations you have or if you just want more practice with a particular skill. Livin’ the Dive Life starts with being the best diver you can be!
Livin’ the Dive Life is all about having FUN! To achieve this, Virginia Scuba combines safe, quality dive training with a fun, relaxing atmosphere. We know people expect professional instruction from their dive facility, so our professionals are held to a higher standard than most dive shops. All of our professionals must complete the Virginia Scuba Internship Program under the supervision of more experienced instructors prior to being allowed to teach independently. This, combined with our yearly QMS Review, ensures that our professionals are the best that they can be so you can become a diver with the confidence that you have been taught by the best. While no one is perfect, we constantly strive to become better professionals so you can be a better diver.
One of the most important decisions you’ll make as you become a diver and expand your diving career, is your gear. Without scuba gear, we cannot survive the underwater environment for more than a few minutes. Our staff is here to help you make informed decisions on what life support you will use. As new divers, you will learn to dive in more than one gear configuration so that you will understand the differences before you purchase your Total Diving System. For seasoned divers, we will guide you through the pros and cons of different gear as you move forward toward new adventures.
