Diving in Hol Chan Marine Reserve

Some of the best diving in Belize can be done in Hol Chan, a protected marine reserve located off the coasts of Ambergris Caye Caulker. Hol Chan, which means “little channel” in Mayan, covers about 3 square miles (7.8 sq kms). This marine reserve is home to many tongue corals and other fantastic coral formations. Dive alongside stingrays, nurse sharks, and turtles in the sites of Hol Chan, Eagle Ray Canyon, and Shark-Ray Alley. Explore the world-famous dive site known as “The Wreck”, which is a 30-foot long (9 meters) sunken barge and a guaranteed place to see a colony of nurse sharks.
