Diving in Altaussee

The Ausseerland is not only the geographical center of Austria but also a pearl of the Salzkammergut. And the Altaussee lake itself is considered one of the most beautiful in the region. It has a length of 3 km (1.9 miles) and a width of about 1 km (0.6 miles) and often has good visibility, although it is famous for its dark blue color, and has been dubbed ‘the inkpot’. As a smaller lake it is perhaps not suitable for larger groups of divers.
