Diving in Bösinghovener See

A freshwater lake located in Meerbusch, near Dusseldorf, this used to be a former gravel mine. You can dive here year-round with temperatures dropping as low as 3C (37F) and rising to 24C (75F) in the summer months. The depth is around 12 to 13m (39 to 42ft) and with a visibility of up to 10m (33ft) you can enjoy the underwater life and some points of interest such as sunken statues and small wrecks. The fish you will see include perch, pike, sturgeon and carp and you will need to buy a 12.month permit before diving.
