Diving in France *

Jacques Cousteau, the so-called “father of scuba diving”, was born in Bordeaux and France is also known among diving enthusiasts and underwater photographers for its many cave diving sites. Under French law, scuba diving centers are entirely responsible the diver. As diving is governed by the French Sports Law, the person leading the dive, known as the Dive Director, is responsible for what occurs the entire time.
