Another former mining quarry, this lake is set I the area of Geiseltal, which is just to the northeast of Mücheln, Saxony-Anhalt. It is actually the largest artificial lake in Germany – t covers 18 square kilometres (11 square miles) – a huge transformation for what was a vast mine site and popular with both bathers and campers. Divers will enjoy the serene conditions here, with shallow waters and fast lows, not to mention the good visibility. It is the perfect place for dive training and improving your technique while enjoying clean and clear conditions.
