Diving the Loyalty Islands
Sitting 190 km northeast of New Caledonia’s mainland, the island of Lifou is famous for its colorful and wild dives. A 40-minute flight from Noumea, Lifou is the most famous and extensive of the Loyalty Islands, its coastline carved out of long bays, cliffs, endless white sandy beaches, and dense forests. The island is a diving paradise full of underwater treasures. Crystal clear waters filled with tunnels, arches, and caves are covered in colorful gorgonian sea fans, all of which are thriving with the famously diverse marine life of New Caledonia.
