Diving in Löbejün

Approximately 15km (9,3miles) north of Halle (Saale) are the quarries of Löbejün. The three quarry pots, which are close together, are among the most popular dive sites in East Germany. The maximum depth is about 18m (59ft). From the base, you can reach the water via a gently sloping hill. The slope extends to a depth of about 8m (26ft). In the shallow water area, there are some dead trees and a small water lily area. The fish population is good. Here you can meet big swarms of perch.
