Diving in Mondsee

Just two kilometers away from Attersee, on the border between Upper Austria and Salzburg, the Mondsee is the warmest lake in the region and very rich in fish. You’ll find the water quite dark here as there is a high quantity of plankton, so you’ll need lamps. Along the shoreline you’ll also find thick vegetation, which shelters fish from zander to pike. From the south of the lake, where you’ll find the easiest access, you’ll spot schools of small fish as well as car wrecks, an old phone box and even fallen tree trunks.
