Diving in the Southern Huvadhu Atoll *
The southern region of the Huvadhu Atoll is also known as Gaafu Dhaalu. This is actually where most Deep South trips start from with divers flying from Male down to the local Kaadedhdhoo airport located in Gaafu Dhaalu. With some of the deepest dives available in the Maldives, this atoll will have you come across giant creatures. It is also a great spot to see all the kinds of sharks that the Maldives has to offer with 26 varieties living in the southwestern channels of the Gaafu Dhaalu region.
