Diving in Southern Kyushu

The Satsunan Islands are scattered from Kagoshima south to Okinawa and is home to some of the best diving in Japan. These islands offer a mixture of temperate and subtropical zones filled with coral reefs teeming with life. The water temperature is warm throughout the year, with good visibility. Some dive sites offer great shipwrecks or sunken airplanes to explore. Yoron Island is famous for meeting sea turtles, ancient nature is still found on Yakushima Island, Amami Oshima Island offers schooling fish and amazing macro life, and the Tokara Archipelago boasts many unique dives.
