Diving in Tauchsee Horka

Horka Lake, or Tauchsee Horka, is situated in an old quarry in Crostwitz, Sorbian Chrósćicy, a village and municipality in the center of the German district of Bautzen, Saxony.

With unusually high visibility, and a maximum depth of 33m (98ft), the former quarry is a popular site for scuba divers, and diving geocachers too. A steep wall, and beautiful underwater scenery make diving here quite special.

The lake abounds with some rather interesting and strange scenes; a fake, but shockingly real looking, shark will startle even the most experienced of divers, a flooded quarry pump house, and a submerged forest is a sight to behold.
