Diving in Walchensee

Lake Walchen, or Walchensee in German, is one of the largest, deepest and most beautiful alpine lakes in Germany. Situated 75km (47mi) south of Munich and bordering Jachenau, the lake is perfectly centered in the heart of the Bavarian Prealps.

With an area of 16.4 sq km (6.3 sq mi) and sitting at 802m (2,631ft) above sea level, it presents a depth of 192m (630ft); perfect for divers of all levels.

Its clean water offer visibility of 5m to 20m (16ft to 66ft) and a varied marine life, including eels, perch, barbel, rainbow trout, and zander.
