Diving in Wolfgangsee

The jewel of Austria’s Lake District, Lake Wolfgang (called Wolfgangsee by locals) is renowned for being one of the most famous, and perhaps, the best-loved of vacation lakes in the region. Covering an area of 13.5 squared kilometers, the lake was created by glaciers several thousand years ago and you can dive a beautiful wall with overhangs and swim amongst trees in the shallows.
Lake Wolfgang’s location just north of the Alps is a strategic advantage during summer as its water reaches up to 24C (75F), making it one of the best and warmest dive sites in Salzburg – and perfect for swimmers too.
