This dive site is an extensive rocky bottom area that lies at about 1.5 km west of Cape Espichel. Depth varies between 34-42m. Due to its location, the existence of strong currents is common.

Bifa

This site is easily identified at the surface by its distinctive geological formation at the base of the cape. Waves and swell here create large water spurts (in rough weather you can even hear “roaring“). Underneath it - under calm conditions - there’s a cavern-like environment and beautiful walls to be explored.

River Gurara MV was a Nigerian cargo motor vessel that sank on 26th February 1989 in Cape Espichel, during a strong storm. The ship broke in the middle, keeping its bow near the coast. This dive site is of the bow of the ship and has an average depth of 28m.

Paredes do Cabo

The “Cable Walls“ are located next to the Cabo Espichel cliff. The depth is about 12-15m and what makes it special are the traces of the River Gurara wreck which can be found. The stern part is about 100m to the south.

Arcanzil is a rock formation located a few tens of meters south of the coast of Sesimbra, near Cape Espichel. It rises from the bottom (located at 15m) to the surface. It is rare for the top of the stone get completely submerged.

Pedra da Milu

This spot is very pretty, due to the large variety of gorgonians that it has in its background.Usually, the dive here begins at 28-30mts and we can admire the gorgonians that almost cover the bottom as if it were a colourful carpet.
