Classroom Rock

To access this dive site, from the fishing pier, dive to 10 ft/3 m. Turn to your left (south), maintaining your position at 10 ft/3 m for approx 10-20 kicks to find two logs located together. You may see 3-5 large boulders on your way. These logs (50 foot/15 m trees) will bring you to Classroom Rock.

Yokum Pond Public Boat Launch

This great pond is a Berkshire County treasure!! It has limited non-native invasive aquatic plant species, so care should be taken to avoid cross-contamination of organic material. Decontaminating or disinfecting all water crafts, water toys, snorkeling, and Scuba equipment should be done before your adventures.

Pontoosuc Lake

This lake can be best accessed via the Public Boat Launch at 10 Hancock Road in Pittsfield, MA. Recreational boating is popular during the summer so diving safely can be difficult during peak times. Plan to dive early or late in the day and avoid weekend if possible.

Dublin Lake is a 240-acre body of water about 0.8 miles long and 0.6 miles at its widest point. The max depth is 110 feet. It is mostly spring-fed. Offers good possibilities for diving and training divers.

The Old Ponquogue Bridge was replaced a few years back with a larger concrete bridge. The Old Bridge has been left intact to provide an area for diving and fishing; its also become a fish haven!

USS San Diego Wreck

In July 1918, the 15,000-ton armored cruiser USS San Diego sank off Long Island, New York, losing six sailors from a crew of 1,200 after a mysterious explosion struck the vessel. She was later determined to have been sunk by a mine, laid by U-156.

Sandbar at Lake Winnisquam

This site is a large sandbar on the southwest end of Lake Winnisquam, just north of the Route 3 Bridge. You can access this site by boat with easy anchorage. It is diveable May through October most years.
