At the most western point of the bay of Haifa lies a ridge of stones at a depth of 4 to 9 meters (12 to 27 feet). This is an easy shore entry with the reef beginning at just 300 meters (900 feet) from the shore.

In the public beach of Bat-Galim, a shallow dive (up to 10m) with opportunity to visit the wreck of Arlozerov immigrant ship (sank in 1947) to the north and the cement ship to the west.

Turkish Cement Boat (Wreck) - אוניית המלט הטורכית

The Turkish boat sank in a storm in 1998 with 850 tons of cement sacks onboard. The wreck lies on its side at 12 meters (36 feet) deep. The load it was carrying fell out of the boat around the wreck and, in time, it hardened forming cement boulders.

The Scire is an Italian submarine that sunk in August 1942 during World War II by the British Army. The wreck lies at a depth of 30 meters (100 feet). Over the years the rough seas deteriorated the ship but you can still clearly see the vessel’s deck, bridge, and masts.

Neve Yam Caves - המערה בנווה ים

This is a shore dive around a large reef with a small cave and a tiny island. A shallow dive at just 3-5 meters (9-15 feet), you can dive into the small cave. Light penetrates through cracks in the cave’s ceiling creating a spectacular show of light and colors.

Acres Canyon - קניוני עכו

A nice, relatively pristine canyon/wall situated 1 mile (1.6 km) off the shore of ancient Acres. The wall starts at 8 meters (16 feet) and drops to around 26 meters (85 feet). It is 70 meters long (330 feet) with a lot of small niches and caves.

Habonim Beach is a marine reserve. This shallow dive site, up to 5 meters (15 feet), takes you along the shore and around a small reef close to the shore. The highlight of the dive is the Blue Cave, as small cracks in the rock create a narrow strip with beautiful rays of sun running through it.
