Bellatrix

The Bellatrix was one of the tugboats sunk with the purpose of being part of Recife's shipwreck park. Before being sunk, it was cleaned for the safety of the divers during the penetrations. Today this wreck is in navigation position and rests at 30 meters deep.

The Walsa is a tug similar to the Saveiros and Mercurios, sunk with the purpose of being part of the Artificial Wreck Park of Pernambuco. It lies at a depth of 40 meters and is very well preserved due to the excellent sinking. This is a great spot for technical and deep dives.

Sao Jose

Sunk alongside the tugs Bellatrix and Phoenix, is the tugboat São José. This wreck is in navigational position, resting at 29 meters depth. The house is whole, with the command house in the upper part. Above the engine room, there is a passage that allows penetration.

The tugboat Phoenix is part of the Artificial Wreck Park of Pernambuco and was sunk next to the tugboats Bellatrix and São José, distant from each other in a few meters. This wreck is in navigational position and very well preserved. It can be seen the casario with command room, chimney, rudder and more.

Florida

The tugboat Florida sank 14 miles from the Port of Recife, due to bad weather. Of 11 crew members on board, only 05 survived the wreck. This dive starts at 30m. and can reach 33m. Many parts are still well preserved, like the boiler, winch, double expansion machine, propeller and rudder.

Mercurius

The tugboat Mercurius was sunk on the same day and very close to the tugboats Saveiros and Taurus, after cleaning and preparation procedures for diving. Today it is in navigational position, practically intact. It can be seen the control room, propeller in duct and the engine room can be accessed.

Virgo

The tugboat Virgo lies on the bottom in a sailing position only 20 meters away from the tugboat Taurus, so in a single dive two wrecks can be visited. Large mooring bollards can be seen in the bow and the hull is in one piece, with a control room on top.

Due to the proximity of these two wrecks, about 20 meters apart, it is very common for divers to visit both in a single dive. The dive is relatively shallow, being made around 20 meters deep, with great safety for possible penetrations and guaranteed fun.

After sinking in 2003, in Recife harbour, the tugboat Taurus was brought back to the surface and, due to the damages, donated to the artificial reef project. Today this wreck is at 25 meters deep, slightly adhering to port side. It is possible to penetrate and identify many pieces.

It is not possible to correctly determine the name and date of this shipwreck. Probably she was a small wheeled tugboat, with steam propulsion. She is correctly supported on the bottom and although most of the parts are buried, the engines and boilers are almost intact and in the correct position. Not to be missed!
