Plateau aux tortues

Located in the heart of the Fishermen’s Bay, the site presents itself as a vast disc, swept by the waves. The outer edge, steep, offers beautiful perspectives on the abyss; gorgonians and black coral find their place there.

La Source, Tahiti

The site owes its name to a freshwater spring emerging from the depths of the ocean. It gushes out at 5-6 meters below the surface and is easily visible due to the column of fresh water escaping from it. This is what is called a halocline. This site is well-known in Tahiti for turtle watching.
