Laguna Beach

Similar in appearance to Black Coral Wall or Pretty Bush Gentle shop, with some rock formations and depths to 100 fee/30m are possible. Lots or soft coral and fish.

Pretty Bush

This reef starts at the shore line and reaches all the way to 15ft and then drops to 100ft. Broken walls and sand channels make for a beautiful site.

Sturges Bank

Within the main harbor of Utila is the Sturges Bank. In a huge area you will find formations that resemble small hills under the surface and are covered with coral. Since this place is protected within the harbor, it is frequently visited and has a total of 3 fixed mooring lines.

It is an amazing site with a very nice Labyrinth-like passage in between coral walls that deserves to be mentioned but named correctly. Located off the island of Utila.

Little Bight

A wide sand patch gradually slopes from the beach to well past 100 feet, creating a beautiful break in the reef that runs parallel to shore. Little Bight dive site is easy to reach and fun for all.

Black Coral Wall

Black Coral Wall is a gently sloping wall with occasional dramatic rock structure. Abundant Black Coral grows here and can be identified as the whispy bushes growing out the side of the rocky structures.

Silver Gardens

Located 20mins from the main hub on the south side of the island, this site has 4 markers. The shallow is at 20ft with sandy patches and then drops to about 100ft.

The Lighthouse Reef

Identified by a Concrete Pillar that sticks out about 10m/30 feet above the surface is where “Light House Reef“ dive site is located, the pillar also marks the entry channel to the main Utila Harbor. This site is usually busy due to its close location to most dive centers on the island.

The Halliburton (Wreck)

The Halliburton Shipwreck sunk on purpose in 1998. It was a cargo ship intentionally prepared to create an artificial reef for divers. The deck of the ship is at 20m and the top of the bridge is at 18m. The length of the ship from bow to stern is 30m.

Ron’s Wreck

Finishing off Moon Hole toward the west brings us to Ron’s Wreck. Once an old shrimp fishing boat, it is now sitting below the sea at about 60ft (18.28m).
