The 196-foot/60m-long steel car and passenger ferry The Straits of Mackinac, was scuttled in 78 feet/24m of water, April 10, 2003. The ship is located approximately 10 miles north of Navy Pier.

Three Oaks Recreation Area is a 300 acre quarry. Diving is only allowed in the designated area which is about 3 acres in size. Max depth is 45 ft. Visibility ranges from 40 to 10 feet, depending on the time of year.

Pear Lake is located at 1220 Dearborn Ave Hwy 251 South Beloit, IL 61080. The quarry is a great place to do training dives and brush up on your scuba skills. The quarry is only available to Dive Shops and their divers so you’ll have to go there with a dive shop.

Prins Willem V

The Prins Willew V is a 258ft/78m freighter sitting in about 70ft/21m of water. Built in 1948, it sank in 1954 with a cargo of Hides, outboard motors, tv tubes, aluminum kitchen ware, horsetail hair, hog casings, printing press, machine tool parts, canned fish, fruit milk and vegetables. Plus many other items.

Half Moon Beach (Quarry)Not Open to Public

Private quarry NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC in Mitchell, IN. Maximum depth of 55 feet, shore entry, platforms, lines, statues, and sunken boats/objects for training participants to enjoy. This quarry used to be a public beach in the 1960s, and steadily became more exclusive as ownership changed hands.

Lake Mendota - Shorewood

Access the site via an access road at the intersection of Edgehill Drive and Edgehill Parkway. The city allows divers to open the gate and drive down to the boathouse just to unload/load gear, but you cannot leave your car down there during the dive. Find street parking along Edgehill Drive.

Devil's Lake South Shore

Search for Cottage Grove Rd in Baraboo to get to this site. There’s a small parking area to the left just before the road goes uphill. Lake entry is to the right. Back swim north to just past the fourth cabin where the water is about 13’. Continue the dive heading north, staying close to the rocks.

Devils Lake North Shore

Go past the visitors center, and take an immediate right just past the railroad tracks. Stage at the far end of the last parking lot. Entry is over the railroad tracks and down the rock wall. Backswim south to about the 3rd telephone pole and descend into ~13’/4m of water.
