You will want a wetsuit when diving Strawberry Reservoir as this water gets cold! There is typically good visibility and several good locations to dive. This is not a State Park, so make sure to pay your entrance fee.

Mountain Point Lake and Hot Springs

Utah’s newest fresh water lake and hot springs. Privately owned and operated, this location is a hidden gem and a fun spot to explore. The location can’t be beat with easy access on and off I-15 on the south end of salt lake valley.

Deer Creek is a great place to spearfish. Visibility can vary, but it is good for the most part. Temps are similar to other lakes in the area. There are some rocks and other things to see.

Quail Creek Reservoir

Located 10 minutes from St George. Fresh water reservoir is accessible from shore or boat. Vis is not good unless you have a boat and can get away from the shore. There is no designated dive zone.

Homestead Crater

The Homestead Crater formed when melting snow on the Wasatch Mountains seeped deep within the earth. Two miles below the surface, the earth’s interior heated the water. As it percolated upward, it picked up minerals, which were then deposited on the surface.

Sand Hollow

This lake sits at a little over 3000ft so it is an altitude dive. It is inside Sand Hollow State Park which does have a day use fee. Currently that fee is $20 per day per vehicle. There are 2 campgrounds on site as well. There is also a dive shack at the site which provides airfills and gear.

Jordanelle

This is a nice area where there is a no wake zone. Visibility has been good at 10-20ft. There are some rocks and submerged trees. I have also found boat anchors and lots of lost gear.

Blue Lake

This is a great year-round diving destination. The geothermal lake provides warm water diving even on the coldest winters. Local dive shops have been using this location to train divers for many years. There’s ample unpaved parking. It is recommended you bring a tarp to keep the mud out of your vehicles.
