Openluchtzwembad De Slenken

A beautiful freshwater lake with lots of fish and a beautiful underwater environment. The peat walls in the middle of the lake are a nice area to dive, as well as the north and west side where the tree branches hang in the water. The tree roots on the northwest side are also worth a visit.

The “ Kleine Surfplas“ is one of the two Lakes in the recreation area “Nijstad”. Diving in this area is monitored by Dive2adventure. The Diving is ONLY allowed by pre-registering with Dive2adventure (info@dive2adventure.nl). Dive2adventure is currently working on construction of a underwater park in this lake.

The large surf lake is one of the 2 lakes in the recreation area “Nijstad“. Diving is monitored here by Dive2adventure and is “ONLY“ allowed after registration and approval via info@dive2adventure.nl

Zwembad Ruinen is a swimming pool complex with several outdoor pools. You can go here as a diver but also have a day of fun with the whole family.

Indoor pool with shallow and deep water, the municipal pool of Steenwijk. Temperature is on average 27c.

It is a swimming pool belonging to the Fletcher Hotel. It is a shallow pool where you can just sit on your knees. In and out of the water is possible via a staircase.

The pond at the Fletcher hotel is a small pond for beginning divers and training with the car in the water. The water is filtered so the visibility is quite ok.

Westerveldse Kolk is a fun and diverse dive site. If you dive along the shore you will encounter numerous objects at different depths that you can swim past. Be aware of the boat traffic on the lake.

The Millingerplas is a beautiful diving spot. You will find various objects and even containers to swim through. You will find a platform at 8 and 20 meters.

The Wythmenerplas is a popular training location for beginning divers. With a simple line system from the jetty (starting at the first car wreck at 5m) to the 5-meter platform at the alternative entry (beware, deep last step).
