Diving the Berlengas Nature Reserve is easily accessible from early spring through late autumn with boats departing daily from the beautiful fisherman’s village of Peniche. Excellent diving in Peniche is a short 20-30-minute boat ride away. Berlengas Nature Reserve marine life includes large schools of sea bream, grouper, conger eels, and possible dolphin sightings below and above the water. Keep an eye out for octopi and small colorful fish hiding within beautiful rock formations off Berlenga Island. Wreck diving is also prevalent here, with many shipwrecks scattered amongst the islands.
