Diving the Islas Medas

The Medes Islands, a small archipelago of seven islets and a few reefs, is host to a remarkable sanctuary of marine fauna and terrestrial flora. Its coastal location and proximity to the mouth of the river Ter allows for a great variety of marine environments and underwater species, which make the island’s surrounding waters their home. Don’t be surprised to see large schools of sea bream, and eagle rays entwined with small schools of barracudas. The many underwater caves and sea walls teeming with gorgonians give the island a magical feel and make it one of the best diving sites in Catalonia.
