Mindoro is the perfect dive destination with an abundance of marine life, including over 400 different types of coral, nearly 500 species of fish and an abundance of sharks, rays and even the occasional Manta ray. The best way to arrive at the dive spots where the reef is accessible is by a short ride or liveaboards and safaris that depart Batangas and Puerto Galera. From Pandan island, you can take one of the many day trips to the 3km long reef; it takes around 90 minutes to arrive by boat; excursions from Coron can take longer. Many accommodations for every type of budget are available around Sablaya and Pandan Island, ranging from Luxury to more economic. All levels of divers will find the perfect dive site in Mindoro, including challenging dive sites with strong currents that are common along the steep and dramatic walls, perfect for the more experienced divers. The easiest way to arrive at Puerto Galera, which is famous for its unique and diverse diving, is by departing from Manila or Batangas, by bus. Fly into San Jose airport and transfer to Sablaya for boats to Pandan or Mindoro.
