Diving in Spain

From the cool Atlantic waters of the Bay of Biscay in the north, to the warmer Mediterranean Sea to the south, Spain is perfect for year-round diving. It boasts a summer daytime temperature on average around 30C (86F), and in winter around 16C (61F), with water temperatures from May to September, between 19C (66F) and 29C (84F), and during the cooler months from October to April, between 14C and 18C (57F and 64F).

The Kingdom of Spain, as it is officially known, sits on the Iberian Peninsula alongside its neighbor Portugal, and also includes two archipelagos - the Canary Islands off the coast of Africa, and the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean. Along the north coast of Africa also lies the Plazas de soberanía, a cluster of Spanish islets with include the Alhucemas Islands and Chafarinas Islands, and the three Spanish enclaves bordering Morocco named Ceuta, Melilla, and Peñón de Vélez de la Gomera. With its crystal clear waters, and variety of different waters and points of interest to explore, Spain offers some of the best diving in Europe.
